General Questions

  • Do you accept walk-ins?

Yes, we accept walk-ins, but we strongly recommend having an appointment to avoid having to wait once you arrive. Walk-ins will be helped depending on physician availability.
  • Do I need to see one of AMC’s doctors before I can see a specialist?

It depends on your needs and we decide on a case-by-case basis. If you have a sports related or chronic orthopedic issue, you can see our orthopedic doctor directly. We have a similar policy for seeing our mental health and wellness professionals. If your case does not fall under either example, we recommend that you first see our general practitioner for an initial consultation and then you will receive a referral to the right specialist.
  • Do you offer sick notes for local companies?

    Yes, absolutely.
  • I don’t see the service I need on your website. What should I do?

We know navigating the medical landscape here in Shanghai can be tricky. Call our medical hotline, and if we don’t provide a medical service that you need, we will do our best to steer you in the right direction.
  • Are you a hospital?

No. AMC is a full-service outpatient surgical clinic, meaning that the vast majority of our procedures do not require an overnight (inpatient) hospital stay. We also do not have an emergency department for 24 hour care but are happy to recommend another facility for your emergency needs.

  • What’s the best way to travel to AMC?

    By Taxi

Tell your taxi driver to take you to the crossroad of Tianlin Lu and Lianhua Lu (田林路, 莲花路). Our address is 888 Tianlin Road, Building 1 East , 上海市闵行区田林路888弄1号东楼.

    By Subway

We are a 5 minute walk from Hechuan Lu (合川路) on Line 9.

  • Do you offer transportation services?

We offer free patient pick up in our AMC shuttle, when available. We give priority to those patients with trouble walking or needing extra assistance from their home or place of work. Call our medical hotline to schedule a pick up.

  • What health insurance do you accept?

We accept all major international and domestic insurance providers. In some cases, a Guarantee of Payment (GOP) may be required. Patients should contact their insurance provider to confirm if a GOP is required to be seen.
  • Do you take international credit cards?

Yes, we take Unionpay, American Express, Visa, and Mastercard.
  • What happens if I have an emergency and don’t have health insurance?

AMC generally does not handle emergency cases. For urgent orthopedic cases, please call our front desk for help on seeing a physician as soon as possible.
  • What if i don’t have health insurance?

Many of our patients don’t have health insurance. We accept cash payments as well as credit cards and can work with patients based on their particular case and individual needs.
